I always had a soft spot for Athos for the same reasons you listed; for some reason, d’Artagnan never quite endeared himself to me.

Gosh, that’s kind of amazing. Uh, I suppose being made a public joke of in a national broadsheet newspaper will have to suffice as punishment? (I mean, seriously, this girl and her mother are making a laughingstock of themselves, going ahead with this. I doubt Sydney Uni will ever let her into their law school after this.))

Any of those four factors is enough in it’s own right, IMO. It’s difficult to find good, practical, cute shoes of a high quality so it’s worth prolonging their lifespan! I’m also staggered how much it cost though. I had boots resoled two years ago for £18 but though they did an acceptable job, if you were looking the new sole didn’t fit the boots quite right (but they were only decent low-range boots anyway). Kudos for your green credentials too, I’ve been trying to find a cobbler in HCMC with no luck (local friends just tell me to buy new shoes…)

The whole story is ridiculous and a complete waste of time. Clearly it is entirely the girl’s fault and she had unrealistically high expectations to begin with. If she was that keen on studying law she could have gone to another place to do it other than USyd but clearly she was only after the prestige and the reputation, not the course itself. & On top of it all the mother sounds quite vile.
