About Myself

Me!

Hi. I’m Amanda, and I’m a webaholic, a frugalista, a socialist, a feminist, and a career student (currently studying a Master of Human Services Management). I am also: based in Melbourne (Australia), Mr. Darcy’s true love interest, a softie under a hard exterior, and a cross between fobulous and fobabee. I’m the girl who’s embarrassing to be around, but who you’ll keep on your Facebook friends list because I’m good for a few laughs and a gabfest over a beer.

High on the list of things I like would be reading predictable Regency-era romance novels, throwing myself in the path of danger, travelling extensively, being stingy with my money, being an anally retentive organiser, getting my freak on, and indulging my love of power ballads by singing loudly and obnoxiously in public. I am discovering in myself an ability to cook without consulting a cookbook. I have a tendency to turn nouns into adjectives and verbs, thanks to Joss Whedon’s influence.

For more about me, either add my blog to your feedreader (I blog near-daily and it’s the best way of getting to know me), or read these questions from my readers: here and here.

If you need to contact me, try at acchamanda at gmail dot com, Facebook or LiveJournal.

About The Site

“Jingwen” is phoneticisation of my Chinese name, meaning “quiet and cultured” (or something of the like). By giving me this name, my parents hoped that they would instill these same qualities in my personality – they were clearly misguided.

In case it wasn’t made clear by the total lack of static content, this is a web log and nothing else. I do post a lot of longer entries on here which would pass as ‘articles’ on other sites, so if you’re in the mood to read something of more substance than what’s currently on the index page, I suggest browsing through the archives for such entries.

Regarding comments, write whatever you like – I do however, reserve the right to edit or delete your comment as I see fit. I only delete comments from anonymous commenters, or people with multiple aliases, so do use a genuine name/email combination to ensure your comment is approved. If you’ve commented, and your comment doesn’t show up within forty-eight hours, chances are that it was caught by my spam filter and deleted mistakenly. Email me with your comment, and I’ll add it to the entry in question.
