An Impulse Flight Purchase

Ohhhhh yeah. $356.19AUD in a special two hour long sale baby!

It was a bit of an impulse purchase as I hadn’t planned on visiting China again for a few years, but at this price I could hardly pass up the opportunity. I don’t know northern China very well (I’ve only spent a week in Beijing before, most of my Chinese experiences have been in the south east), so I’ll look at travelling to other places. Unfortunately I’ll miss the Harbin Ice Festival, but it would be worthwhile for me going to Xian (I’ve never been), and I’m even toying with the idea of maybe joining an approved tour of North Korea for the once-in-a-lifetime experience. One Asian Communist to another of course.
I’ve done a rough guestimate, and the two week trip should come in at under $1500 inclusive (assuming I stay within China). Who knows, I might even still have enough left over in next year’s travel budget to look at travelling overseas twice in 2012…

That’s awesome. And you should definitely go to N. Korea and tell us all about it. I’m super curious about that place, for reasons I don’t quite understand, but oh man, do it so I can live vicariously!

Beijing was awesome for the experience and the photos, but I’ll never go back there again.
PLEASE be careful on the roads. They drive like maniacs and bike even worse.
