New Layout

After three hundred and eighty-two days of the blue, white, and red honorary Obama-esque layout, I’ve finally gotten around to coding up something new. Was I particularly inspired? No, I was just sick of the old layout.
Colours are drawn from the cover of an old comic book I found in the boyfriend’s belongings. Header font is fuchsiabuddha, by Tracey Bleeden. Floral design comes pre-packaged as part of Photoshop’s shapes. Basic blog structure remains the same as the old design, though you will now find the categories and archives located at the bottom of the page – there is a “skip to” link at the top to take you down to them. I’ve also put a photo of myself up on the About page, as I’m becoming increasingly vain.
All comments of gushing adoration will be duly accepted. Criticisms will be taken with a grain of salt, but acknowledged reluctantly if deemed to be correct. Tested in Mozilla Firefox 3.5.5., so if you find any structural differences in your particular browser of choice, please take a screenshot and let me know either in the comments, or by emailing me at acchamanda at gmail dot com.

I think this looks fantastic. :) Nice and simple, and straight to the point.
Though, I think white text on black is a bit hard on the eyes? I always was told that it’s better to have grey on black.

I can’t read white on black. My eyes burn. :( This layout is really really hard on my eyes. If you could make the text really light grey, it would be a lot better.
Other than that, I really like the colours and swirls and the simplicity. :D

I think the layout would look nicer on a dark grey background than pure black but it’s probably just personal preference.

But! The pink isn’t very easy on the eyes, and I also have a horizontal scrollbar? (I’m using the latest version of Firefox, too.)

Colours aren’t bad – together with the floral shape it reminds me a lot of the Opera house at night…

*gulp* My eyes are so bad that this really hurts them. Yes I know I need to see a doctor. Maybe it’s just too much black for me to get used to. Too harsh.

I like this new layout. It just screams “trendy” to me, obviously in a good way. Of course my favorite part is the header font.

The colours are definitely a bit harsh on my eyes :( But I do like the header, didn’t really remind me of flowers, but reminded me of trees… well, if they were green maybe :)

I think the new layout is fantastic. I always thought these colors wouldn’t go well together, but I guess this proves me wrong. It’s not *too* bad on my eyes at all. The design in the header and footer is very nice; I like it! =)

Looks great, I like the black with the bright colors :). It seems everyone is changing their layout. I guess everyone got that same “change layout’ bug at the same time (including me, but working on it still)

I’m sorry, this really hurts my eyes and I’m not joking. I can’t read it at all. I just turned styles off and now I’ve got blotches in front of my eyes. Urgghhhhh. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if I was only looking at a computer for an hour a day, but I don’t. So, ouch. :/

Nice :) I especially like the blue-lilac grass brushes on top and bottom. Just make the dark blue text a bit lighter… kind of hard for me to read. :)

I have bad eyes and find the text-to-background too contrasty, but other than that I like the layout. Love the vibrant purpley blue
