Uncoordinated Klutz

July 26, 2009 | Filed under Body, Money

Smart things I’ve done today include:

  1. Tripping over the curb on my way into work
  2. Dropping one half of a boxed baby cot on my foot
  3. Jamming my finger into a child safety gate
  4. Spilling an entire cup of tea over my bed, attempting to dry the wet patch with a hair dryer, and managing to leave a lingering smell of burning material in my room

I’d like to put the above incidents down to sheer bad luck, but really, it’s that I’m a total and complete uncoordinated klutz. If there’s something I can drop, spill or walk into, there’s a nine out of ten chance that I will do exactly that. Nothing delicate is safe around me – which perhaps is half the reason why I shun buying breakable trinkety knick knacks and plan to one day have a home furnished entirely with chrome and leather pieces.

I forever have bruises all over my legs and arms. At current count, on my right leg alone I have two separate bruises on my ankle, a handful smaller bruises on my shins, and another two on my knee. It’s bad enough for a casual bystander to assume that I’m the victim of domestic abuse – but no matter how rough the sex might get with Dylan (what can I say, I like it hard and rough), it’s really my own clumsiness that causes my physical injuries.

In other news, I plan on doing my taxes tomorrow on my day off. I lead a scintillating life – I’m actually a bit excited about toting up figures and playing with money. I’ve been researching different areas in which I can claim tax exemption (e.g. I think it’s up to $300AUD on work-related clothing?), which makes me a bit giddy, because that’s saving myself a bit of money. Huzzah!

  1. Well, there’s no way you can get hurt doing your taxes! Touch wood, though. (HAHAHA, innuendo! Ok, nvm.)

  2. I personally think it takes skill to trip on a flat surface than a curb. Now that’s what you call an uncoordinated klutz.

  3. Ouch! I hate days like that where I just keep tripping, falling, and bumping into things. :(

  4. I feel your pain (literally) – there’s not a day goes by where I’m not doing something embarrassingly uncoordinated like smashing my hip against a countertop corner or falling over flat surfaces!

  5. When tax season comes around, you need to do them for me!

And I’m also really, really klutzy. If it makes you feel any better, I fell down some stairs this one time… and there were actually only two steps.

  6. Do my taxes for me!!!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease! – I actually wouldn’t make anyone do them, mine is so stupidly complex.

  7. Man thats a lot of damage to yourself in one day. I’m not as bad as you but I do somehow seem to bump my “funny” bone every couple of days. Seriously and I scream every time it happens.

I think you can also claim up to $150 on work related driving expenses as long as you weren’t on your way home anyway :p (ie picking up/dropping off mail between work hours)
