Is it weird that I’m a little disappointed that you’re not expecting? I mean, it’s definitely the more ideal result but a Dylanda spawn? That would have been awesome!

I took a pregnancy test once before when my period was late – I got the supermarket generic brand – a two-pack for a fraction of the cost of brand named tests and with the same rate of accuracy.

I’ve actually become quite dubious about brand named drugs – you can usually get generic brand drugs that contain EXACTLY THE SAME CHEMICALS at 1/2 the price or less. I buy ‘value health’ antihistamines that are 99p when compared with something like Piriton which costs what, £3? And I always laugh at people who buy the brand named Nurofen. It’s just ibuprofen, the patent ran out on it years ago. You can buy the same as a generic brand for 50p.

Whew, that’s good to hear. It does sound like a good idea to test yourself each month. if anything, you’ll at least know what is going on in your body.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome often tricks my body into thinking it has all the symptoms of pregnancy, bar an actual foetus in my womb so I’ve taken to stocking up on pregnancy tests too.

I doubt I even have ovaries any more, but it still freaks me out when it seems I may be pregnant.

Personally, I just wait for my period but if you think it would make you feel better and you can afford it, it couldn’t hurt.

I usually miss periods, no idea why. I was told by my doctor two years ago that it was a “hormone imbalance”. You can imagine how many times I thought I was pregnant, heh. Weird how bodies can be.

I think it’s a good idea to test every month, especially if you drink any alcohol. Just to be safe. :D

Do you have dollar stores where you are? The ones here sell pregnancy tests for $1 each versus the grocery store ones which are anywhere from $12-20 for a two-pack, and the dollar store ones are just as (if not more) effective. (Apparently, they are more sensitive to the chemical – I think peeonastick.com has more info.)

Argh, yeah, I get super paranoid of that too, despite a religiously regular pill taking regimen. I can just imagine the furor it would cause if I did get pregnant. That, and shoot, I have a hard time taking care of myself – much less a teeny tiny thing that is so much more demanding than me :P.

I do the same thing. I mean, the idea of me being pregnant makes me laugh because I am in no way ready for children. But then I think about it for a while… And it makes me go a bit nuts!
