I would hate having a job that doesn’t keep me busy. I’ve never had a job though, ahhhh. So I applaud you for making so much effort to get a job more in line with your career. Any chance you’d put up a blog entry on how you’re looking for jobs in the area? Tips and hints?

Good luck finding another job. I think it’s a good idea to do something that is more related to your schooling. It will look better on a resume.

I know exactly what you mean. I work as an Admin of sorts for an accounting firm here, and I swear, I did absolutely nothing all of last week. I’ve been trying to look for something geared more towards my major (also non-profit), but sadly, everything I find has “must be bilingual” caveat attached to it.

Bah – all the more reason for me to consider peacing out to the UK or Oz, I guess :P.

Even though it might not be as well paid as you’d like I say you should really look for something in your field of work. Everybody has to start somewhere and generally that’s at the bottom of the line to work your way up (and some of us do it faster than others).

It’s funny, here you are thinking about some kind of 9-5 contingency plan, and yet “miss 9-5″ over here is thinking about departing from that line of things in the future. I don’t know why I’m considering it at this point, given the pending doom of financial ruin with a sprog (minor exaggeration) and it will probably be nothing but a pipe dream for many years… but for the first time in my life I’m beginning to loathe being stuck in an office having to answer to other people’s demands.

Not-quite-mid-life crisis?!
