What I’m Actually Suited For

May 16, 2009 | Filed under Uni/Work

…in terms of legitimate occupations that suit me, my personality, and my interests perfectly.

  1. Sex educator
  2. Financial consultant
  3. Fashion buyer
  4. Auctioneer
  5. Ghost writer

I would be great at any of these jobs, I know it. The only thing is the unpredictability of the above occupations, and the sheer hard slog that would be required to actually get there.

And of course, the thing is, I hate rejection. If I’m going to put effort into doing something, I want to do it well. If I throw myself into attempting to do any of the above but end up failing, it would be so demoralising that I’d possibly never try my hand at anything else ever again.

…we’ll see. I have my whole life ahead of me for these things. After all, most people change careers (not just positions, but actual careers) at least seven times in their working life. I have enough time to get it all done.

  1. 7 times? Excellent, I may have the opportunity to try doing everything I want to do.

  2. Why on earth would you want to be a ghostwriter? Doing the bulk of the work for next to no accreditation… that’s like saying you’d be happy to not get the proper recognition for your work.
