QOTW: Ten Things I Think…
May 14, 2009 | Filed under Media, Q.O.T.W.
…should happen more often in real life instead of only in movies and cheesy novels.
- The whole dance floor breaking into a coordinated dance sequence.
- Romantic reunions in the rain after one person has run halfway across the city to catch up with the other person, apologise, and reconcile.
- The socially awkward male best friend you’ve had your whole life suddenly morphing into a hot dude just by changing his hairstyle.
- Suddenly coming into a lot of money unexpectedly.
- The quarterback falling in love with the quiet geeky girl whose good qualities go largely unnoticed by the rest of the student population.
- Finding the love of your life and spending the rest of your life together with no obstacles to stand in your way.
- Growing past any parental issues and managing to build a mature adult-to-adult relationship with them with no rancour for past slights and incidents.
- Expressing your love for someone through song and dance.
- People holding out for their true love, no matter how long they wait, rather than settling for the first person to come around.
- Zombie outbreak.
Question Of The Week: What do you think should happen more often in “real life”?

Number 10 is the only one on that list that I approve of. :p Aaaand maybe 1.

LOL at number 10.
I’m a bit iffy about number 8… as for 7 I seem to be doing the exact opposite these days…
The rest I wouldn’t mind either.

I totally do #8. It’s a very roundabout way of expression love without saying you’re expressing love. :P And a friend of mine is waiting for #10.
I wish #5 had happened to me, except it didn’t have to be the quarterback. It could’ve been anyone.
But yeah, pretty good list!

That’s my exact list (albeit in a different order), except for #10!
1, 2, 5, and 8 are my top 4.

Time-lapse montages!! Some way to fast-forward through boring crap like studying, cleaning, getting in shape and stuff like that, in a funny way with peppy background music..

May I introduce: http://tvtropes.org/

Choreographed dance sequences should be MANDATORY in life. That’s why the dances in Jane Austen movies are so much fun.

I thought #7 happened all the time. Maybe I’m the one of the few lucky ones.
I’m with Cecelia. It would be awesome to montage my way through three assignments. :P

I definitely approve of number 1 :D

Person 1 realizing Person 2′s unrequited love for him/her in an epiphanic gaze into each other’s eyes…and of course, the love is finally reciprocated.
I know, I’m so cheesy. It’s very wishful thinking because unfortunately I have a such a pessimistic view of love and (real) life. That’s why romantic comedies make me happy for a delusional moment until I realize it’s more fantasy than anything that could happen in reality.
I do love #1 though. Just rewatched Shakespeare in Love and I get all excited during with the Renaissance dance stuff, haha.

I have nightmares about #10 happening. Seriously. It’s kinda sad.
#3 actually happened :)
I think it’d be awesome if I walked into a Toys R Us and not only was there a massive electronic piano keyboard on the floor, but two people played a duet on it just like in Big. That would make my day.
Rebecca on May 15, 2009 #
The guy you’ve always loved since you were a nerdy 14 year old magically falling in love with you.
Which almost happened. Sigh.
Stephanie on May 15, 2009 #
I would LOVE it if #1 happened. And uh, I would also love to run across a field of daisies into the arms of my lover. YES!
Shen-Shen on May 15, 2009 #
There can only be one answer here: training montages.
*cue cheesy 80s music*

XD at #10. WIN. x1000000
Uhh…let’s see here….going about your normal everyday life when you discover you’re destined for something greater than you expected like…saving the world from otherworldly predators or…finding out one day that your family has connections with alien royalty (actually had a dream about that…). :3
@blah: I love that site! :D
Noellium on May 15, 2009 #
YES TO ALL!
As much as I hate to admit it, I quite haven’t gotten over my soft spot for stories with #5 as their basic plot.
Felisa on May 15, 2009 #
Sparkly vampires.
JOKING! Although maybe hot werewolves wouldn’t be so bad…
#8 should be modified to express ALL feelings through song and dance. And high school musicals. ;)
