Corporate Mobiles

My old LGU310 pink mobile phone lasted me through two years of heavy duty warfare, from the thrice-daily occurence of dropping it on a hard floor to being left outside during a heavy rainstorm which almost killed it. It’s battered and covered with scratches – a well-earned rest is long overdue.
Enter the replacement, courtesy of a free handset upgrade by my service provider. A blue Nokia E63 with full QWERTY keyboard for convenience of messaging; I’m a bit of a text monster. It’s perhaps a bit more elaborate and feature-filled than what I actually need a mobile for:
- Sending and receiving texts
- Making and receiving calls
Yes, I’m one of those people who don’t require a 10 megapixel inbuilt camera, full music player, and all the added extras that it comes with. With that said however, I probably will become addicted to the internet acces that it comes with – 24/7 access to my emails and Facebook profile? How could I say no?
The important thing I suppose is that the appearance of the E63 is a lot more sedate and respectable than my former phone which was a vivid candy pink flip-top. As I’ve finally found a part-time position as a receptionist in the corporate environs of Melbourne city (shit pay, but related to my Masters studies, so good for exposure and experience in the field), respectability is definitely important!

Ooo, blue! I think that’s nicer than my E71′s silver/grey/black scheme. And mine wasn’t completely free, I pay a bit extra on my contract but oh it’s worth it. Believe me, once you’ve entered the world of the smartphone there’s no turning back! Hello internet on the move, being able to view PDFs and use the office suite, installing games like tetris…but most of all the qwerty! Of course none of that’s necessary but it’s a lovely luxury. :)

Congrats on the job! Something is definitely better than nothing, especially when it proves to be such a magnificent opportunity for greater things in your future career! :D

I like your new phone especially that it has a proper key board. Out of all the phones I have had I like Nokias best as they seem to be the easiest to use.
Congrats on the new job too :)

haha at least you use it for more than just making calls…because that’s all I do :P but when my buddy has the same class as me she often texts me things like “sperm entry causes cortical rotation and calcium increase?” Yes, I tutor by text.

Oh my best friend has a similar phone… seeing as she works for Nokia :P
Beware, she mentioned that since she was not used to such large “bricks” she managed to whack her jaw with it :P

CONGRATS! Part time? What’s the hours like?!
Now, you my dear, are going to take good care of the phone!! -__-^
Reply: Five hours each on Mondays and Wednesdays…possibility of increase, but until then, I’m going to keep looking for something that’ll give me another two days a week!
