Eye’m Going To London For An Imitation

I went with my mother to another eye appointment yesterday. We were told nothing new – the blood has cleared up a bit (though there’s still residual traces of it in the visceous) so they could see more than they originally could on our first visit. The retina seems fine – it’s still attached, there’s no visible tears. The specialist is hedging his bets on a simple (ha!) burst blood vessel, but we’re returning on the 7th of January for a follow-up appointment to make sure all the blood clears and for a final examination. Well to be perfectly clear, my mother is returning on the 7th of January, because I’ll be in transit to London and unable to accompany her, which, believe me, I feel incredibly guilty about.

Also: I’ve decided on tomorrow as the day to break the news of my flying to the other side of the world to my parents. If you don’t hear from me for a while…well, just assume that I was probably decapitated, hacked into little pieces, and buried in the backyard under the Hills Hoist. Either that, or locked in a cupboard and fed meagre rations of stale bread and water. One or the other. I wouldn’t put it past my parents.

As for the photo on the right, I noticed this entry from Alex yesterday, and thought it’d be amusing if I recreated/imitated the exact same outfit (we bought the same dress and shoes on Tuesday!). Granted, I’m about twice her size, but hey, Rubenesque frames are back in fashion right?

As Alex stated, dress from Peter Alexander ($19.50, but technically free for me because I had a gift card), shoes from Steve Madden ($10), but my necklace is from St. Vinnie’s opshop ($2), not Diva.

  1. That’s good to hear about your mother. When I was 12 I was hit in the eye by a cricket ball and burst a small blood vessel- only a few years ago did the red dot finally disappear, though my vision was unaffected.

Good luck with the news, but your plan is very good anyway so you’ll be fine :P

Lovely outfit :D I think your body shape suits the style very well!

P.S. Lets play tennis before we go and scare fellow players with our matchiness?

  2. Lovely outfit, I think the style and colour really suits your shape.

Good luck with breaking the news to your parents. I’m glad to hear your mother’s situation seems to be improving.

  3. Hope everything with your mother goes well! Also, hopefully they don’t maim you too much about the trip. ;)

What a cute outfit! It looks very flattering on you both actually! Strut your stuff girl!

In response to your comment on my blog about WP 2.7, I also have the automatic upgrade plug and I read yesterday on the plug’s website that it might not work with 2.7? It didn’t pop-up for my website and so I just downloaded 2.7 from the WP website. =(

  6. Ack! Your sexay body distracted me from the text!

Hopefully your parents don’t hack it apart. D=

And my fingers are crossed that it is only a burst blood vessel in your moms eye.

  7. cute outfit! I’m glad to hear that your mom’s eye condition might just be a blood vessel burst; my mom had the same thing and although it looked creepy, she was fine. Does your mom have high blood pressure/high sodium levels? My mom does and the doctor said that might have contributed. I hope all goes well, including your trip announcement! =)

  8. I love your outfit and the flirty way you’re twirling the necklace :P

Good luck breaking the news to your parents! And I’m happy to hear that your mom’s eye seems to be better. I would feel guilty if I couldn’t go to the appointment with her, too.

  9. That dress is so cute!

I’m glad that your mom’s eyes are clearing up and are (hopefully) on the road to recovery. Hope things went well with your announcement, too, especially knowing how Asian parents can be sometimes :P.

I think the blouse and skirt look totally hot on you. I love the necklace too!
