Twitter: Hook Them Young
December 8, 2008 | Filed under Online
I’ve ranted about those who use Twitter before, but well, there’s certain things you have to admire about the company that created the application. Their marketing department for example.

I guess they’re aiming at a younger audience now that they’ve got the teen and young adult market cornered.

You never know, the more candid, the more interesting… is my opinion. :P

They just failed by capitalising the wrong word. Twitter as a verb means:
1. to utter a succession of small, tremulous sounds, as a bird.
As much as you might think it does, not EVERYTHING is related to the Internet. :P

Um… Twitter is the name of the hummingbird. Duh.
Reply: Yes, but that would be humour at work, which you just missed.

Yeah, I think Twitter’s the name of the hummingbird.
Hey, as internet use is being prominent amongst younger children, they’re going to try and drag them in. Plurk’s somehow done that already.

Maybe Twitter copied them? Yea, that was pretty useless…>_>

EDIT: just to clarify, I didn’t mean your blog post…lol. I re-read it and felt it might have been misunderstood. =P

Haha, that’s funny. I like Twitter but I mostly post random things I’m thinking, not documenting my every step. I also think the @ thing wrecked Twitter, but that’s just me.

Hahaha Oh Amanda… I just lol’ed and I’m in the library.

At least no one’s calling their kids Twitter yet? :P

Hehehe.
You know Stumble Upon bothers me now because whenever I use the phrase, I end up thinking about the fact that there is a website with the name. =}

I feel stupid for not realising the hummingbird was named Twitter! It seems so obvious now.
My ten year old sister has a Twitter account, but she’s past the demographic of these books, hm.

Ah, a classic example of a word being semantically bleached through its use as a proper noun. ^_^

@Allee Just you wait. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet, what with the world welcoming Bronx Mowgli Wentz a few weeks ago….

And this is how you know Twitter is an evil corporation; they’ve been brainwashing our children! :P
