July 10 2008: My Hair Reflects My Stress Levels
It’s kind of sad when my hairdresser knows more than I do about my own stress levels. I tend to coast through life, pretending to myself that everything’s alright when really, it’s not. He informed me that I have a bald spot measuring approximately one and a half centimetres in diameter under my previously thick mop of hair. I used to have the same sort of bald spot during my last year of high school, when I was snowed under with five hours worth of extra study each night. Evidently, I’m under the same kind of stress now. How frustrating.

On a brighter note, my new haircut is awesome. It’s almost as though I didn’t quite look Asian and emo enough before, so I had to make myself more Asian and emo. It’s my goal in life.
You look lovely. :) Very sleek.

Stress? My darling, you need to go on a non-stressful vacation. I know you don’t know what those are since you like petting sharks and diving off mountains, but perhaps just a nice day at a spa with some girlfriends would help?
Your hair looks lovely, by the way. =)

I love it!
And my god, a bald spot?! It’s going to go away once you destress, right? What kinda stress are you under!?
Oh btw, Shine came the other day, and my mother flipped out, haha! I didn’t tell her I was getting a package from Australia so she went around screaming “IT’S PORN” for 10 minutes after I opened it, haha.
Reply: Oh yay, you received it! Your mum sounds like mine - OMG DIRTY STUFF ONLINE! Heh.

Your hair looks great Amanda!
Do you have any idea what’s stressing you out so much now that you get a bald spot?

ooh pretty! so sleek.
I actually am getting a haircut tomorrow, haha. I have a patch of missing hair too, but it’s near the front so it just looks like I have a weird hairline. I also found that when I had switched to Herbal Essences shampoo, my hair starting falling out…and continued to fall out until about a year later. Also, when I was sick and on some cocktail of antibiotics, my hair fell out like crazy. yikes.

You look EXTREMELY like one of my friends, especially with that hair! My hair’s been experiencing the same neglect during school and other commitments etc. and it’s been in a terrible condition for more than a year now! So, no matter how much the work, pay a tiny bit of attention to yourself too. :)

Love your new haircut! And your glasses are so cool. My glasses are about five-years old and very outdated. :/ You’re very beautiful, Amanda!
You and are a bit alike in the stress department. My hair also reacts to my stress levels. Only mine doesn’t create a bald spot….it gives me gray hairs. o_O Some of my hairs will form white tips, as though someone dipped them in white ink. Very weird. So I try not to stress, but trying not to stress only stresses me out more. It’s a vicious cycle!
Thanks for your comment! I appreciate it very much, and I sure hope to have fun this weekend! :)

Lol. I’d just like to mention that you are very amusing and never cease to amuse me in your blog :)
And your new haircut looks awesome. :D
I fail to see the emo-ness though, I think I am out of touch.. but anywho, great haircut =)

You look really cute there… though admittedly not like someone who’s 21. More like… 16-17. It’s still very fetching.

You’re not the only one. I’ve a psychological disorder called trichotillomania, and my hair definitely reflects my stress level. The more hair I lose and pull out, the greater stress I feel…even if there isn’t even anything to be stressing about.
I’m naturally a very stressful person, I guess. :p
Your hair style is awesome. And yeah, I agree with your visitor Josh. (Even though I’m one month late on this, heh)
