April 5 2008: Reviews In Ten Words: March 2008

Non-Fiction

  1. Charlotte Chandler – Ingrid Bergman, A Personal Biography: Complete with plentiful anecdotes, yet still lacks details and facts.
  2. Sam Jordison – Bad Dates (True Tales from Single Life): Funny collection of “bad date” stories, see all at http://whendatesgobad.co.uk
  3. Michelle Morgan – Marilyn Monroe: Private and Undisclosed: Text somewhat bland, but the plentiful photos are really insightful.

Fiction

  1. Jenny Crusie – Bet Me: Whirlwind romance between two complete opposites is very much chick-lit-esque.
  2. Mary Janice Davidson – Really Unusual Bad Boys: One-dimensional men with big penises – what a chicklit heroine needs.
  3. Janet Evanovich – Plum Lucky: Funny story in between the numbers, complete with faux leprechauns.
  4. Nancy Fairbanks – Truffled Feathers: Fine dining in New York, whilst trailing a vicious murderer.
  5. Candace Havens – Charmed & Dangerous: Unexplained concepts misleads into thinking it a sequel…it’s not.
  6. Sophie Lee – Alice In La La Land: All that glitters isn’t gold in acting tale of woe.
  7. Paul Magrs – Something Borrowed: Supernatural, sprightly grannies take on netherworldly creatures and demons. Sequel.

Movies

  1. Cadet Kelly (2002): Not enough love shown for the Duffster…she’s endlessly entertaining.
  2. Catwoman (2004): The absurdity made me LOL, though it’s not a comedy.
  3. Clueless (1995): Unbelievably entertaining after a decade. A true modern teenage classic.
  4. Maid In Manhattan (2002): Where’s the supposed strong attraction between the protagonists? Fiennes miscast.

  1. I love Clueless so much. It’s one of my favourite movies. And I think I might go watch it now…

  2. Maid in Manhattan = possibly one of the worst movies ever?
Cadet Kelly = too adorable. I love Duff, I have no idea why people just don’t ant to hug her as I do. :P
