I Am Actually Alive

Surprisingly, the sky didn’t fall on my head after I failed to post yesterday.
My dad’s operation went well. He’s recuperating nicely at home – though this does mean that I’m currently doing the work of two people until he gets well enough to start taking on more work again. Proof below:
- Early yesterday morning: Went with my mum to clean someone’s house while my dad got ready to go into hospital
- Yesterday noon: Came home after cleaning and drove my dad to the hospital
- Yesterday afternoon: Spent all afternoon in the hospital with my dad
- Yesterday night: Drove my dad home, and went out immediately to pick up four loads of ironing for my mother – this took about two hours, driving all over Melbourne
- This morning: Dropped off one load of completed ironing at 9am
- Today: Spent all day at my own work
- Tonight: Dropped off another load of completed ironing, and spent two hours cleaning with my mother
The schedule for the next two days is pretty much identical. It’s tiring, I won’t lie to you – I’m currently averaging about four hours sleep each night because I’m kept awake by an overactive mind, constantly running over things that need to be completed the next day. But, I’m an optimist. Things can only improve.

I don’t envy you on the cleaning front — I got home from work early on Wednesday and my mother has a job cleaning for some (rich, le sigh) family and, consequently, also cleans for their twenty-one year old son who has his own apartment. So I had to help her. Males are a disgusting sub-species, I’ve decided.
I hope you get more sleep soon! And good luck to your father and his recuperation period. :)

I’m glad your father’s operation went well! And tough times are always a test…just try to power through it and keep thinking about when it’ll all get better…I know you can do it!

Yet you still find time to come and blog for us!
You’re a true hero, Amanda.
Glad to hear the operation went well. You look after yourself though!
