February 7 2008: Year of the Rat

Happy Chinese New Year!

The zodiac symbol under which we’ll be living for the next year is the Rat, with the following qualities traditionally attributed to it: aggression, death, war, and the occult. They seem particularly appropriate for my father and brother, both of whom are Rats by birth.

In any case, let me wish you all: 新年快了! 恭喜发财! 身体健康! 大吉大利! 福星高照!

I did purposely omit the qualities of wealth, charm, courage, enterprising, bright and sociable, all of which also apply to the Rat. But hey, why compliment my family when I can insult them?

  3. *is a rat as well* Me?? Agressive?! Never! I’m very kind to people… I’m being extremely generous when I tell people that their websites suck. I’m nice enough to not let the “live a lie” =P

War… um not really. I’m too comfy for that.

Occult? Well that sounds good… but it still takes some studying. Though if just directing my thoughts toward… um enemies work, I’m happy to do it,

Tee-hee! Happy New Year to you TOO! =D

  12. Aw. I wish I was a rat. They sound brutal!

I’m a fire rabbit. It always makes me laugh because the fire part contradicts my western zodiac sign. But then again, my moon and rising signs are Leo and Scorpio… which is pretty contradictory as well. Woo. Contradiction FTW!

  13. My stepfather’s sign is the rat. I’m a horse. Funny thing is, we’ve never really gotten along. Go figure. :)

  15. Aggression, death, war, and the occult? That’s kind of scary considering the state of things in America. But how accurate is astrology, really? On a more positive note, Happy Chinese New Year! I swear I was born into the wrong culture. The Chinese New Year is so much more fun than the Western (or whatever you call it) New Year. But that’s just my opinion.

May you swim in red pockets, enjoy successes throughout the year, be merry, drink and drink and drink, and have funnn!

I’m a horse. Mwahah, how wrong-sounding in a certain way.
