Visualise The Shining

January 7, 2008 | Filed under Body, Life

How strange. The day immediately following my panic regarding two missed periods, it’s come back in full force, almost as though three cycles are being expelled at once. And that, my dear readers, is possibly way too much information. Are you visualising it? Think The Shining, minus the little kids:

In other news, I went to see P.S. I Love You tonight with some friends. Unfortunately, no stalker turned up with confessions of love. I must admit, it’s almost a letdown.

And to catch up on previous posts here on Jingwen, so as to ‘update’ you with my life:

  1. My dad’s completely fine now, the stones passed in the ‘natural’ way.
  2. I’ll probably be in New Zealand from the 18th of February, for approximately two weeks. Unfortunately, plans are currently for South Island only, however I’m doing all I can to make my way up to North Island to meet some extremely cool people.
  3. We’re still looking for new staff at work
  4. Harry still hasn’t called me.

How unexciting.

  1. Any possibility of making a slight detour to Perth when you visit New Ziggy? :(

  2. The panic probably had something to do with it ;) so after all that stress away the other stuff came.

  3. Argh, Amanda, I’m torn between being sick and laughing at that video. Did you find P.S. I Love You as much of a wash out as I did? I was sorely disappointed.

Reply: You know you’re laughing Amber. :P I was disappointed as well – the only good part I think, was when Gerard Butler started stripping. Oh baby.

  4. After watching that video, I think my face looked like that third girl.

Reply: Kaylee, haven’t you seen the Shining? That’s a boy, not a girl!

  5. That is so not fair! Sending you tickets and then not turning up… :S

Reply: Ah well, I took a friend just in case. :P

  6. Hilarious!! And ingenuous… I’m glad my periods don’t come like *that* anymore!! I remember I used to get *crippling* pain as well — you know, the kind where you can’t even lie down or even walk. *shudder* Terrible times!

P.S. Glad your dad is doing better =)

Reply: I know what you mean with the pain! I tried all the pain meds and so on, but the only thing that really helped dull the pain (and this sounds really dodgy and new-agey) was weekly acupuncture sessions. The pain’s really dropped off since I had my acupuncture sessions back when I was about nineteen…it’s about three-quarters the intensity of what it used to be, so perhaps you could look into it?

  7. @Jordie: Isn’t Perth in the OTHER direction from NZ?

That’s one brutal period. I gave the link to this blog to Sam and I could hear him laughing in the other room.

I still think you should have planned your trip for the North Island. Have Rhiannon’s guides taught you nothing? There is only one town in the South Island worth visiting, but at least three in the North!

  9. LOLness.

Am glad to hear that things have smoothed out for your Dad. :) Was P.S. I love you any good? From the trailers it seems that it is, so I want to see it soon.

Reply: I honestly wouldn’t waste your money on it…
