A Christmas Mystery

Unexpected Christmas gift!

Yesterday in the mail, I received a double pass to see P.S. I Love You. In itself, receiving a movie pass wouldn’t be strange as I often purchase movie passes on eBay at reduced prices. The strange thing is…I haven’t been bidding on passes to this particular movie, and hadn’t, in fact, actually bought a pass.

So the question is – who sent me this pass? It’s all a bit mysterious, and considering it didn’t come with a cryptic note of:

My dearest Amanda,

You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you. Meet me at X cinema at DATE AND TIME.

Your secret admirer

…I’m really at a loss. Theories?

  1. I would say it’s sweet, but that movie is really not good. In fact, I think I hated it.

  2. Ooh, how mysterious.

Of course, it could be a scary stalker so be on your watch for any axe murderers ;)

  3. I have a thing for secret admirers, so I’m really excited for you now! :D But yeah, look out for axe murderers!

  4. Well, since the note wasn’t there, it must be someone that doesn’t admire you… and wants you dead ;)

  5. oooh that is so sweet! but yeah, i’d have to say watch out for stalkers too…it’s always my second reaction to a mysterious gift, haha. at least you got free movie tickets.

maybe since you buy movie tickets on ebay, they sent you a free one as a “thanks for choosing ebay!” thing.

  6. Damn, it would have been fantastic if it had come with a P&P referenced note.

Um…. Go with someone just in case. If you do decide to go.

  8. That’s awesome Amanda, I’m quite excited for you ;) free movie passes from someone mysterious could never hurt. Hopefully it turns out well with whoever it is!

  9. DAMNIT, Mike stole my idea. Although I do lose credibility because I’m gay. Early April Fool’s present?

Someone’s out to win your heart. Literally, open heart surgery? I don’t know. I agree with Tracey – have someone tag along if you go. Or, just bring a crapload of pepper spray?

  10. I put on my logical hat to think about this one, and came to the conclusion that they were probably accidentally sent to you.

Of course, this is not quite as flattering as the idea of an admirer or even a stalker, but it’s not as scary ;)

  11. Maybe they’re trying to pique your interest, will lure you there, and then have their wicked way with you! :O

  12. It’s an internet stalker or an alien.

  13. Sounds creepy!

But then again, it’s free stuff. :P Who can resist? All the best in cracking the mystery sender’s identity, though.

  14. Mysterious and obvious, I guess someone has feelings for you and wants to tell you about it, hence the name of the movie..

Good luck trying to figure out who it is, or else spy on him first before you actually walk up to the cinema ;)
