November 12 2007: QOTW: The Ageing Process
The end is night. Life as I know it, will soon be over.
…today, I found my first white hair. It’s about a week late in arriving (shouldn’t it have appeared on the morning of my 21st in order to welcome me to adulthood?), but nevertheless, it’s there, taunting me with jeers of “Ha. welcome to the world of ageing and non-buoyant boobs!”.
I can hardly wait for the wrinkles to start appearing.
Question Of The Week: Have you noticed signs of age appearing in yourself? How do you cope with that?

I get grey hairs all the time. I heard that if you get them while you’re young they’re caused by stress and not aging :P
ummm…. I still get mistaken for a 15 year old, so no real signs, but I feel old all the time when I talk to little kids who were born in the late 90′s 00′s. I cope with it by telling myself Im only 20, not even 1/4 of a way through life yet.

I think I noticed it when I can no longer stay up all night right before an exam!
Plus, when a woman turns 25 – you just *know*. ;)

I get white hairs sometimes! Don’t worry, it’s genetics… my dad got white hair quite early on, whereas my mum has only had only a few in her life and she’s 50!
Eh I’m not too worried about aging… I’m more annoyed about looking too young and being viewed by strangers as a little kid. I’m looking forward to when that won’t be a problem at all!

Aww, poor Amanda. I know what you mean – I’ve got quite a few white hairs myself … and I’m not even eighteen yet! Eh. With age comes wisdom, though, yes? Gotta love that philosophy.

poor you!
Well, I haven’t got any gray hairs yet, but I got the first wrinkles at the age of 25. I became 28 last Saturday and by watching photos of back when I was 25…I wanted to cry! I looked so young. Not that I look old now as nobody believes I’m 28. But the wrinkles get deeper everyday…
How I cope with it? I’m getting older. There’s nothing left to do, but to stay young at heart and mind.
I do use a lot of money on body lotion, anti-wrinkles creams and what not….if that helped… :(

I think I notice signs of aging more in other people. When I look in the mirror I look exactly the same to myself.

Amanda, you’re 21! The bloom of life and all that!

White hairs don’t mean squat. I’d start being concerned when your hair begins to gray. Gray hairs are a sign of aging, not white.
As for me, no I have not noticed any major signs of aging. My grandmother had nearly no gray hairs when she died and my mother has a head filled with gray. You can imagine I’m hoping the trait skips a generation.

Since college never lets you sleep, I’ve gotten these terrible eyebags. :( I just try to sleep as much as possible. Otherwise, people still mistake me for a 14-year-old. -_-;;
I found my first white hair last year. I thought it was awesome! I can’t find it anymore though. I guess it turned black again. Maybe the same thing’s happening to you.

I’d be worried if I’d noticed signs of ageing in myself already. :P

I have had some white hairs… probably since I was 18.
Of course, there’s days when you just look at yourself and think “oh my god, I’m two decades old…” and you just know.

No, I haven’t really noticed any signs yet. But then again, everybody in my family looks way younger than we are, I look like 18, my sister who is 37 looks like 27.
Today I bought a bathing suit, tried it on at home again and saw… cellulitis!!!! I see that as a sign of aging because young chicks (who are slim) don’t have that.
I do hope with my swimming regularly it eventually will go away – hoping much :)

At 14, my major sign of aging is maturity. It scares me.

Ahahaha. I remember noticing my first white hair when I was 18. Oh the horror! :P

[...] period, without any disturbance to said hair. Methinks it might have latched on to Amanda’s ageing process entry. [...]
