Snake Skull
November 3, 2007 | Filed under Life
Whilst gardening with my mother today (with gardening being digging up ugly plants and preparing the soil for prettier plants – the exterior of the new house still needs some work), I found something interesting, and a little different.
A snake skull, buried deep within the soil. Interestingly enough, I couldn’t actually find the rest of the snake, leading me to think that it was probably dragged off by foxes long ago and eaten.
Now this is the type of thing I could never find in our old suburb – it was incredibly posh and inner-city, where nothing as wild and untamed as a snake would ever be allowed. Where we live now though…there’s actually protected bushland within walking distance, and there are trees! And wild grass! It’s not manicured to within an inch of its life!
I’m very excited.

Oooh cool! Dead stuff! One of the girls I used to live with loved dead stuff. We found bird skulls for her. And squirrel skulls. And one time we were cleaning up along a lake, and we found a deer’s leg, with all of the skin still on it! It was gross!

ewwww
I have twisted mind since the first thing I thought was that the previous owners conducted satanic rituals and that was a leftover :P

lol @ your excitement
I remember my dog bringing part of a strange jaw. It looked so terribly human…I took photos, but I can’t find them now. That’s relatively “old” (over two years).

I would’ve been a Melbournian if my mum hadn’t seen snakes on her holiday trip in Australia years and years ago. So now, I’m a kiwi. :P
Excited? You’re sooo twisted. But it’s not like everyone didn’t know that already!

Now you can use your Nancy Drew skills to find out what’s up in your neighborhood! :P

That snake skull disturbs me, haha. And to think that when I was younger, I’d freak out whenever I’d see snake shedding (just dried up, albeit intact, skin! not a skull!) in our garden area back in the Philippines. XD

It’s not creepy, it’s cool. All I ever do is find rusty screws.

Discovering things like that always seem so far off from me, and only accessible to archaeologists. Pretty cool :D

Yay, now I know what a snake skull looks like. :)
For some reason, the first thing that came to mind was Voldemort’s giant snake. o_O

… *bursts out laughing* Hahahaha.
Okay, I’m done. Can I poke it?
I actually did NOT read the title of this post, and saw the skull, and thought it was some ancient Timeturner-esque kind of thing. And then I read the title and headdesked. =.=”
