To Survive Or Survive Not

September 27, 2007 | Filed under Online

Hast thou noticed that I’ve been posting more regularly than usual these past few days?

The reason is simple – I’m not going to have Internet access from tomorrow onwards. As the move has been delayed a week, it messed up my original plans. My current Internet plan runs out on the 28th of September (e.g. tomorrow). My new Internet plan at the new house is activated, only as we can’t move in yet, I can’t access it. Thus…no Internet access until I’m back at university on Monday. I’m viewing this as a survival exercise – moving in may be further delayed (next weekend is increasingly looking like it won’t happen) so I could be without regular Internet access for as much as two weeks.

I’ve booked myself out in an attempt to replace the presence of the Internet – I’m attending the third round of interviews for that internship tomorrow morning, will be seeing two movies with friends (Hairspray and Evan Almighty – I bought tickets off eBay!), will perhaps get around to writing that essay on Gandhi before its due date on Monday, and have borrowed “Being Frugal For Dummies” from the local library.

I’m interested to see whether this “…For Dummies” book can teach me anything about being frugal that I don’t already know. I’m not part of the stingy tight-arse Asian crowd for nothing.

But until Monday…fare thee well cherished visitor! I hope thou has a most delightful weekend!

  1. Oh noez! What will we do without you?

I’m sure you’ll manage to survive. I just hope the book on frugality doesn’t advise you to cut out the “unnecessary” internet costs from your life.

  4. It’s going to be hard not having Internet service. I know. I was without regular service for three months this summer. It was agonizing. It’s hard to find things to replace our time online.

  5. Aw have fun on the weekend without net. Be like me and have no internet except work/school hours haha.
I was told Hairspray was shit and not to watch it, but still I went along-and i actually really liked it. Great if your into musicals like Grease, and I love the whole story line.

  6. HAIRSPRAY. That be a good idea, verily it be. And we art Tudor, verily we art.

You’ll survive, no problem. Although we will all miss you like hell – so much … real … life … can be squished into two weeks. Eeek. I’m expecting an enormous blog entry after such an irregular pattern of posts. :P

But still. Have fun! I still need to write on your wall … and best of luck with the interviews!

  12. Getting away from the computer, the internet, and technology should give you an oddly liberating feeling once you get past the typical withdrawal symptoms. It’s good! :D

Hairspray = ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. The soundtrack is divine, the outfits are oh-so-cute, the plot is so typical but still lovable and the whole movie is just the deliverer of the warm fuzzies. I adored it. I had such a hard time restraining myself to my seat and not getting up and dancing.
