A Bottle And A Half
September 17, 2007 | Filed under Body
Yesterday was perhaps the first day in over six months where I haven’t posted an entry. I know, I’m shocked too. As well as being shocked, I’ve also spent the bulk of the past three hours hunched over a toilet bowl throwing up. It’s been real fun.
A word to the wise: if you’re ever going to drink a bottle and a half of champagne on your own within the space of three hours, make sure you line your stomach with carbohydrates first, and wash it down with gallons of water afterwards.
That way you won’t spend three hours hunched over a toilet bowl throwing up the next morning, nor be left holding your head in agony as that incessant tick…tick…tick of the clock hammers into your head.

I was wondering what happened to you yesterday…
I just hope you take your own advice next time! :P

Oh wow, sounds like a severe hangover. I hope you feel better soon! I heard actually drinking a little alcohol during a hangover actually heaps, as your body tries to deal with the new poison, it reacts less harshly to the old lot in your system.

You know, I actually didn’t know that champagne was alcoholic. Or maybe I had known that but forgot it…

Praying to the porcelain gods – I hate it. I went camping with some friends once, and we FOUGHT over the bottled water the next morning!!! Then I roasted cheese wrapped in ham. Hangovers make people weird. :P

Oh champagne… It always seems like such a good idea at night. It’s the classy way to spend your evening. Too bad champagne isn’t classy in the morning.

I sympathise. Wholeheartedly. Also, I feel a bit sick now, because you just reminded of the killer hangover a had a while ago. I threw up for hours, I couldn’t see anything (??) and I slept on the bathroom floor :/
Alcohol = evil, but oh so much fun. Meh.

I hope that you feel better and that last night was, at least, fun.

Champagne? That much champagne? In three hours? Um, crikey. Kudos to you, Amanda. Although alcohol is the sex.
Hope you’re feeling better!

It saddens me when people talk about hangovers and throwing up due to alcohol.
WHY WONT IT HAPPEN TO ME?!

I read in some book that a cold shower and good food will do wonders for a hangover, but having no access to heavy liquor I’ve never gotten to try it myself, and from all the experiences I’ve heard, the good food part wouldn’t do you or anybody good. Yick :-/
(By the way, Akismet marked you as spam in my blog! wtf. I hate that thing forever.)

It’s posts like this that make me feel like an alcoholic. I usually have 2 bottles of champagne in that time and don;t wake up with a hangover, its when I have more than 3 that gives me a hangover.
