September 15 2007: Don’t Vote Liberal - They Eat Chalk!

So, lil’ old Johnny Howard, the prime minister of Australia, has confirmed that while he will be leading the Liberal Party at the next election, he won’t serve out the full term - instead, he’ll hand the reins over to his second-in-command, Peter Costello, halfway through the term.

What is this, a two for one deal at the local polling booths? A “buy an old geezer, and we’ll give you another one for free” week? I don’t think so old man. Either you step down now and firmly make Costello the leader of the Liberals (please do, Australia hates him and your party will lose miserably), or you commit to a full term if you win the election.

Do I hear people saying that Costello could be a good prime minister? Well let me tell you now, I went to elementary school with his son (same year level, same class). His son ate chalk and grass on a regular basis. It was his ‘thang’. In light of my matured years, I can understanding smoking, or perhaps baking particular species of grass into brownies…but eating garden-variety grass straight? Nuh uh.

There’s something strange going on in the Costello household if the children are anything to go by. I’d rather a prime minister who went to strip clubs than one whose children eat chalk: strip clubs are yay, eating chalk is nay!

    Wait, they have?

    *head explodes*

Reply: That’s what I thought, but then people were actually writing into the paper, saying how good they think Costello is. :S

  3. Chalk is healthy for the bones and teeth though but you can’t live without flesh - Just can’t.

  4. Chalk eating is probably fairly common among children in the States. There was even this little boy who lived down the street from me who would put rocks and sticks in his mouth when I asked him.

  6. I gotta say that eating chalk is a lot more original than the kids in my class that ate paper…

  7. I don’t like John Howard. Or Peter Costello. They’re both old coots who can’t resist the lure of politics even though it’s quite plain that a great many people want them out.

Ruddy Ruddy Ruddy. Oi Oi Oi. Aaaaand so forth.
