Faster Than A Leopard

August 14, 2007 | Filed under Money, Style

I went shopping today with my aunt (conveniently skipping a lecture), and picked up:

leopard print smock dress

A leopard-print smock dress of 100% silk (Bardot brand). Originally priced at $119, I bought it for $15AUD. I’m actually surprised it fits as well it does – after all, people with large chests generally shouldn’t wear semi-high-necked tops (high waisted pants aside, the top itself is horrendous).

black boots

A pair of black 100% leather (synthetic sole) ankle boots (Tony Bianco brand). Originally priced at $120, I bought them for $25AUD.

…this is so full of sex. See Sophie Hextor, this is how you dress yourself in clothing made of quality fabrics without having to spend $2000.

  2. Is that Jessica Simpson? She looks like a right dickhead.

How the hell do women find these discounts? My nextdoor neighbour just bought a $420 top (how any top is $420 is beyond me) for $60!

  3. How do you DO that? It’s almost frightening on its own, and not to mention two at a time! You’re the devil, Amanda.

  6. I’m not really a fan of animal-print, but why shouldn’t large-chested women wear semi-high necklines?

  7. I wish there was an edit option, but I guess I’m trying to say, should we wear high necklines or low-ones? Because I’m not comfortable with the latter. But I’m just curious.

Reply: If you wear super-high ones, it just bunches your boobs together and gives you the “huge one pillow-like boob” syndrome, rather than “two well-defined separate boobs”. You don’t have to wear super-low necklines, but I would recommend at least four-five inches of bare skin from your neck down.

  8. I wish I could find those discount shops here in San Jose. :( I love the style of the first dress, though I’m not really a leopard-print fan.

  9. Psht. I wear high necked tops all the time. In fact, turtlenecks own my soul and I couldn’t give two flying farts in space if they’re not fashionable. They’re comfortable and keep me warm.

  10. Boo, I can’t seem to find any great discounts, ever. Also, I’d kill for those boots! Not too crazy about the leopard print, though…

  14. I would never ever pick out anything that has the print of the dress you bought but I guess that’s just a matter of taste (and it’s a good thing we don’t all like the same things right?!)

The boots on the other hand (or should I say foot) are cute :D

  15. *steals the boots* I wish I could find something like that here *sulks*
