Phone Less

Let me ask you, what’s the point of having a mobile phone when you don’t actually use it – either to make or receive calls?
My mother has a mobile phone, and never goes above $5 call charges a month. She calls me, hangs up, so that I have to call her back (and thus, making me foot the bill for phone calls rather than vice versa). Yet when others have to call her on matters of the utmost importance, she never bothers to pick up the phone.
A few days ago, I did my parents a favour and sold a 700L capacity chest freezer from the shop on eBay. Whilst organising pickup of the freezer on my parents behalf, I call my mother to confirm the best time for pickup by the winning bidder.
I call her ten times over a one hour period. Ten times. Not once did she pick up the phone. She finally calls me back (as in, pranks me back, to make me call her) three hours later, with the excuse “Oh I was shopping and couldn’t hear the phone…”.
Seriously, WTF mother? Firstly you make your daughter fork out for all phone bills, then you neglect a $800 transaction to go shopping? You need to sort out your priorities.

She was too busy spending the $800!

I hardly use my phone, I never have credit and my phone is basically only a way for people to contact me not for me to contact them, but at least I answer my phone.

My boyfriend has one of those pay as you go cell phones. He bought like 100 minutes. But we found out that if we keep our conversation under 60 seconds, he isn’t charged anything for it! Woo! So our conversations are normally, “My room. 10 minutes. Be there.”

Oh I would’ve bought it! Not because I NEED it. I just like eBay. And cold things…
They make my nipples hard!
Hahah, my mum is the complete opposite. One of those annoying people who will call you, then call you back a second later and go “Oh I forgot.. uh.. ummm.. yeahhh… hey! oh no… wait…. uhm.. doesn’t matter I’ll call you when I remember”.
Gawd mothers are frustrating.

Yeah I’ve already sent/recieved 1400+ text messages for the last billing period.
My bill is about $65 a month — but I do have unlimited everything. Inernet, calling, and texts. My crackberry makes me happy.

*red face* I am like that! I never bother pick up the phone and even if someone leaves a message – I will hear it – but reply only if I have a gain by doing so. I refuse to call my mother back because she is cheap as hell.

lol sometimes I forget my phone at home and get bitc*ed at for not answering my friends heh.
It happens, but if she constantly does this you need to make her a belt for her mobile to fit in :)

When I *hear* my phone, I answer it.
Unfortunately for most people, it is generally on silent in my purse

My friends are always complaining that I’m hard to reach via mobile phone. ^^; I’d actually rather instant message them or call them by phone.
