August 31 2007: A Tapeworm
On a cool autumn morning, a seventeen-year-old schoolgirl suddenly fainted, and fell down two flights of stairs. Upon arrival at the hospital, the doctors realised that her bloodwork was irregular, and in fact, her immune system was compromised, and she needed to be isolated in a clean room. Awakening from her medically induced coma a week later, she found a doctor standing next to her bed, a tube in her throat, a patch on her back from a lumbar puncture, and her legs paralysed.
“We don’t know what’s wrong with you,” he said.
“I ate some bad ham,” she replied.
“Aha!” he shouted. “Tapeworm! Quick, medical lackey with fantastic hair, order an MRI!”
The doctors found the worm at the base of her spinal column. With it removed, the girl recovered rapidly, and upon checking out of the hospital, was asked out on a date by her supervising doctor.
Then they lived happily ever after.
That was the dream I had last night. The girl was me, and House was my doctor. It was so exceeding vivid that I can still feel the tapeworm in my spine, and his hands on me (whaaaaaaat?).

August 30 2007: Interview: Jenn of Jenn.nu
Interviewing Jenn of Jenn.nu
Interviewer’s Note: I’m aware that Jenn stirs up vastly different reactions in people - whether it be positive or negative. I view this as a chance for her to have her say on neutral territory with an unbiased interviewer, without people automatically jumping down her throat.
How old were you when you first discovered the joy of web design? How did you discover it?
It was the year 1998. I had just turned fourteen, and my mother bought a computer and paid for internet access. I immediately took a liking to bolt.com and kiwibox.com, and had active accounts and journals at both sites. Not long after I stumbled across Serra of fuh-q.com. I was amused by her domain name, and intrigued by her design, specifically the black background and green computer/grid images. I was inspired, and setup free hosting with tripod.com and geocities.com. Before long I had moved on to envy.nu and virtue.nu, was then hosted at orange-jello.com, and purchased my first domain name in the fall of 2001. All along i learned as much about HTML as I could. I must admit, funky-chickens.com was a source I used often! Thankfully, I progressed well beyond iframes, mouseovers and crosshair cursors.

August 29 2007: Inability To Dress Oneself
I’m finding it very hard to dress myself these days.
As a prelude to moving at the end of next month, we’ve begun moving little bits and pieces over to the new house every time we drive over to see how the builders are going with the renovations. They’re being stored in the garage for the time being, and this exercise is basically so we can stagger the move over a number of weeks, and make the actual moving day easier on ourselves by only having to organise for the furniture and large items to be moved.
As such, all my books and DVDs have been packed up and stored into boxes. I’ve cleared out at least two thirds of my closet, packing them into numerous 红白蓝胶带. We’ve moved half the crockery over as well, leaving only the daily essentials. All my brother’s toys have been packed and moved. Everything we had in storage (picnic supplies, beach equipment and the like) have all been moved as well.
But essentially, the important point is that I only have one-third of my wardrobe to work with. Hence, I’m finding it very hard to put together anything but the most basic outfit these days. Though, it kind of shows you what kind of person I am, and what kind of lifestyle I lead considering I’ve left my jeans, T-shirts, black pants, and party dresses here, but have packed everything else.
