July 8 2007: Super Footballer!

So, my parents own a take-away shop. In the evenings, we also have a home delivery service, so I often help out when it gets super busy. As I obviously can’t cook, I take phone orders, drive orders to their location, etc.

Tonight, I drive one particular order to its particular destination. I ring the doorbell and wait. The door is opened by a tall bulky man, wearing (wait for it) Superman printed pyjamas. The image is totally incongruous - this big strong mountain of a man looks like a little kid in his favourite comic book hero sleepgear.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. He’s actually a semi-famous retired Australian Rules Football player. (I would link to his player profile here, but there might be legal issues or something…)

I gawp. I hand over the food. He hands over the money. I keep gawping.

The end.

  6. I should be surprised by him wearing superman pajamas but my husband had Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle sheets and comforter on his bed up until he left for Iraq so I’m not. I kind of think it’s cute but that’s probably because it’s my husband.
