July 3 2007: House

Okay, one and a half discs later (four and a half to go!) am now a total Chase/Cameron, House/Cuddy devotee. House fans, let me know where I can find the best House fanfiction.

On a sidenote, do any other Australians (or British!) remember when Jesse Spencer wasn’t Doctor Chase on House, but was Billy Kennedy on Neighbours? It is, I admit, singularly the worst ever television series ever produced on Australian shores (Home And Away comes a close second – I don’t know why the Poms love our crappy prime time soap operas so much!), but Jesse Spencer and Brooke Satchwell were the nineties equivalent of Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, and regularly appeared as pinups in my favourite teen gossip magazines.

As a ten-year-old fangirl, I had posters up on my wall of Jesse Spencer before you Americans even heard of him! Original fan right here!

  2. I used to be a House/Cam shipper, but that quickly changed when I decided I liked House for myself :-P For what it’s worth, I do like House/Cuddy better than House/Cam now. Chase is adorable :-)

    I don’t read Housefic, though. I like the comics better: mspaint_lolz & soap_brain !

  3. If you like these pairings, you’ll have a blast in season 3.

BTW, did you know that Jesse Spencer and Jennifer Morrison are married?

  4. Ah yes, I remember… Billy Kennedy’s floppy hair used to drive me wild back in my preteen days. Even when watching House, I always refer to his character as that guy who used to be in neighbours.

Similarly, Alan Dale (Caleb from The OC) will always be known as Jim Robinson. At least in my house.

  5. You changed your layout – very summery, I like!

As for House, not a viewer, not much opinion to offer :( It’s not my kinda show – the intense drama/medical jargon tends to lose me real fast.

  6. Whoo! You’ve been converted to a House fan! ;)

You may have been a Jesse Spencer fan before me, but I was a Chase/Cameron and House/Cuddy fan wayyy before you! =P

  7. I don’t have time for any of those shows. I’m still watching Johnson & Friends.

  8. Neighbours is one of my favourite programs. Thus I refuse to read the second half of your post out of protest. :|

  9. house_cuddy for fanfiction, spoilers and if you’re into it fan vids/mixes. I’d recommend reading some of leaiscully’s stuff. Stay as far from Cincoflex as you can (explanation on Internet Police) and other than that I have some bookmarks I should put on the internets, I’ll do that when I’m a little less tired, mk :)

  10. You are shipping the right people on House. Chase/Cameron and House/Cuddy are the best.

I’m not Australian, but I knew Jesse Spencer was on Neighbours. I’ve also seen him in the mini series Lorna Doone, where he was incredibly dorky looking.

I’m not sure of any fanfic sights, but check around LJ and if you get desperate, fanfiction.net.

Also, did you know that Jesse Spencer and Jennifer Morrison (Chase and Cameron) are engaged in real life? It’s so cute.

  11. I am with you on this one – especially the pairings. Who cares about real life? DVD’s are less complicated.

  12. I loved Jesse Spencer in Uptown Girls! Now here I am thinking I was the first one to have recognized him, apparently Amanda has the upper hand! Hahaha :)

I want to say the same for Shia LaBeouf, but I’m scared some crazy fangirl will shoot me.

  13. Home and Away is so much worse than Neighbours.

  14. Try “Intense” on fanfiction.net by the author ElvenDestiny; it’s a Chase/Cameron story. Well worth the read.
