June 15 2007: Pre-Birthday Details
So, this is an extremely early post to let all visitors to this blog know that they are hereby invited to my 21st birthday celebrations. It’ll most likely be held on the weekend after university exams (approx. 18/19 November, two weeks after my birthday), at an inner-city location (Melbourne obviously!).
I’ll be sending out invitations probably within the next month/two months (yeah I know, I’m organised), so if any of my online acquaintances want to come, I’d love for you all to email me at acchamanda at gmail dot com with a postal address. I can think of a few fellow Melbournians off the top of my head, so I’d love to see you all there (+guest!).
I’d also love to see some Sydneysiders come down to Melbourne for the weekend, as you’re really not all that far away. I have some Sydney-based friends tentatively confirmed as coming down for the celebrations already, so perhaps if a few of you could make it too? Looking at flight details from New Zealand to Melbourne, it doesn’t look like flights are too expensive either…so, well, you guys know what to do.
And of course, if anyone else wants to fly to Melbourne for the occasion, I’d be more than happy to have you there too! The more the merrier…

I would totally hop on my private jet…
…if I had one. You know how that goes. :)

Oooh that’s so tempting I’ve never been to Melbourne before! It’ll be great if Tim and I drive down there for a mini outing and I drop by your party amongst the sightseeing… *ponders*
Reply: And think about it! I’ve conveniently scheduled it for after exams! :)

Too bad Australia is so very far away…
And, as a side-note, I thought you were older.

Darn it – if only it wasn’t exam season around that time of year… Melbourne isn’t that far…
Amanda on June 15 2007 #
Hey, it’ll only cost more than $2,000. Why the hell not? :P

I have this silly dream of living in Australia when I’m older, but for now, I’m stuck in the Midwest of the US. Ugh.

How cool ;) months way before your birthday. How organized! I won’t be in Australia til my last semester of uni though, so maybe your 23rd birthday perhaps?

Too bad you live on the other side of the world, or I would’ve given it more than a thought! ;)
Ramsha on June 15 2007 #
If you lived closer then I’d be there quicker than you could say, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”
Amber on June 15 2007 #
If I find a goldmine to pay for the ticket, I’ll let you know. ;)
*sigh* If only you didn’t live on the other side of the world… I’d totally be there! =)

Hehehehehehe.
My mum said to be the other day, “How would you like to go to Melbourne for a few days?” But errr, she has said that quite a few times before in the past…
I’m still in school in November. Darn.

Bummer – we haven’t planned to go before late this year or early next. I hope you will have a great day though and a lot of people will show up with a load of gifts!
Reply: How late this year? :P November late?

I’ll sneak some place among the cargo of some airplane…or get aboard a boat or something.

Pfft you tempt me, Amanda. Not sure if my father would approve of me training it (or winging it) down to Melbourne or something (if that’s even possible, since I’m terribly public-transport-illiterate these days), but it’s after HSC (my last exam is on the 2nd! Love-lay.) so … hmm. I’ll get back to you in … 4 or 5 months. XD
Reply: Oh surely it shouldn’t be too hard? You deserve a treat after having completed high school. :)

I’m planning on coming over to get a feel for the place before deciding whether I should move over for uni, so I’ll most probably be there for your birthday! :)
Reply: Ooooooh NELLIE! That’s the best news I’ve heard yet! :D

I agree with Skye. Australia? I’ve never been that far away from home before :( Wish I could come though :(:(

Even if you pay for my airfare, I’m not coming :| It’s like more than 24 hours flight from Canada to Australia :(
Jennifer on June 16 2007 #
I’d love to come, although it wouldn’t be fair for me to say anything definite at this stage – I may be too poor to go, who knows! I’ve always regretted not being able to meet you last time I was over there.

i’ll send myself as a package. :) i’m not well informed, how much does a delivery of human costs these days?
…
hmm, my 18th bday is on the 2nd week of August, and for us Filipinos, it’s a tradition to celebrate it big. Unfortunately, until now, I still haven’t planned anything. And it’s 2 months away & I’m only starting with the invitations. *frustrated*
anyway, have a nice day!
cheers,
airah
