Fat Bottomed Girls

Yes, you read the title correctly. This theme is called Fat Bottomed Girls. It made sense when I first named it, as it originally had one of those fat footers where there’s a million and one links and features. Then, I realised I hated those, so why the diddly iddly iddly would I want it on my own site? Logic, my dear, logic. Anyway, the title is clearly a homage to Queen and Sir Mix-A-Lot. Hurrah!

One thing I’m not sure on is the wide content area. It’s currently set at 80%, and I have specified a max-width of 900px for those using resolutions higher than 1024×768. If it’s too wide in larger resolutions (I’m using 1280×800 and am a bit unsure about it), let me know, and I’ll set it at 850px or so.

As usual, tested in Firefox and Internet Explorer on an Acer Aspire laptop running Windows Vista using everything from 800×600 to 1280×800. Any problems in other browsers or systems…well, use your best judgement. If it’s a huge, major, world-threatening catastrophe, let me know! If it’s something like a pixel misaligned, you know, be discreet.

In other non-site/layout related news, I now have red streaks in my hair. Like, really really obvious red streaks. As my mother said…it looks like someone hit me on the top of the head, and I’m bleeding red down the length of my hair.1 I will post a photograph. Soon. Possibly. If I can find my $500 camera which I seem to have misplaced.

1It sounds better in Cantonese!

  1. I actually quite like this one. As I’m using a screen resolution of 1152×864, it looks really quite wide. Maybe a little less wide would be good. Also the navigation isn’t inline with the content area and that bothers me slightly (I know, I know, I’m a nit picker).

On a side note, I’m a huge Queen fan. I LOVE TO RIDE MY BICYCLE…

  2. I was still searching your site when you changed your layout. I did not even notice!

Glade you stuck to yet another simple layout.

  3. I really like the comment box and footer but the header is a bit iffier for me… I don’t quite like the teal on grey. But it certainly is striking!

  4. Wow, you’re a quickie with those theme changes! It looks fine in my resolution: 1280×1024, although the black background seems a little dominant. And the grey font colour in the footer is a little difficult to read. But, I like this one, especially the colours you’ve used.

  5. I love the colours and how you’ve done the comment box and footer! I also think the width (nearly put length there for some strange reason) also looks good for 1024 x 768. I do agree with Amber about the navigation, but that’s nitpicky. I give it two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

  6. (Oh Eric has an Acer Aspire laptop too)

I like the layout, it’s neat and simple. I love purple. Purple is underused. I could say I miss the categories, but I guess they’re under “Archives”? Will check now.

  7. Make the world go round.

Yay, I love pretty forms! If I were you, I would make the font colour in the footer darker. Yes indeedy. And you didn’t even use my colour scheme. What is wrong with you? :P

  8. I like it. No problems on my resolution, but I do have a screen comparable to a plasma TV, so you probably won’t be hearing any complaints from me in that regard. :)

  9. I really like the new layout :)

There’s a fine line between simple and plain and it is always hard to keep to the simple side but you always manage to make it seem easy :)

Only thing I don’t like is the lack of a category list. I never really used it but it seems weird not being there XP

Thanks for both birthday wishes :) haha!

  11. I like big buttts and I cannot lie, and all you other brothers can’t deny … that song likes me for some reason.

I like the leafy pattern. ^_^ Prettyness, I assure you.

  12. I had red streaks once. Like, red red.
Then my whole head was read.
    Then purple.
Now black with purple in the bangs.

    I see where you’re headed, w00t!
