May 2 2007: Julia, Bu Yao Tuo Ni You Dai Shui

There is a girl I don’t like. In fact, I’ve even blogged about her once.

I don’t have a problem with not liking her. In fact, she really deserves my contempt, and despite contrary beliefs, I’m generally quite genial to most people, so you know that there’s something severely wrong with her if I don’t like her.

Anyway, I do have a problem with her name – Julia. It really breaks my heart that her name is Julia. Why Julia? Of all the names in the world, why Julia?

For those who don’t know of my obsession with Chinese pop singer Wang Leehom (I run a fanlisting for him!)…well, one of his most popular songs from his older albums is a song entitled “Julia”, where he sings of his relationship with a girl called Julia.

…why couldn’t it have been “Amanda”? There’s just the same amount of syllables! It would sound better! It wouldn’t break my heart! It would be more realistic!

  4. I agree that the name Amanda is under-represented in songs – I know several songs about Julia but none with Amanda.

  5. I have a song called “Amanda” on my iPod! Unfortunately, it’s by someone completely different, and in a completely different language… but at least the song exists and it’s vaguely about the same thing, right?

  7. Awww the other post doesn’t give much more information than this one about why you dislike her… any one particular reason?

    Not enough “Belinda” songs either. :P It’s my dream for Darren Hayes to have a song with my name in it… *__* But now that he’s officially out of the closet, the chance of that is pretty low. :P
