Subtle (ha!) Pluggage

Megan. Noemi. Megan. Noemi. Megan. Noemi. Megan. Noemi. Megan. Noemi. Megan. Noemi. Megan. Noemi.

Like I said, whoever comes closest to guessing the correct price gets a priceless prize – recognition on this blog. Megan guessed $21, and Noemi guessed $23. The actual price was $22, so give these two girls a big hand! I must say, I’m flattered that so many of you think that I have the ability to buy $170 worth of merchandise at under $15. I know I’m good, that goes without saying, but I’m not that good.

Another question on behalf of an acquaintance – is there any way to get Google Adsense to validate? I know that I’m generally known as a “OMG ADS DIE!” person, but I do accept them on non-personal site/blogs – which this particular site isn’t. So. Advice? The owner is currently validating as HTML 4.01 Transitional – and the whole site apart from the ads is valid. What do you advise?

And lastly, don’t you love it when people close comments on their blog because they can’t stand criticism? It makes me lawl.

ETA: Let me know if you spot anything wrong with this layout. So far it’s been tested in IE7 and Firefox 2.0.0.3 on Windows Vista, from 800×600 to 1280×800 and I can’t spot anything – I need a fresh opinion!

  2. Sublety gets nobody anywhere anyway :P

E-drama. I will not get into it. I will not get into it anymore than I already have (e.g. PWNED!) I will not get into it… Arghhhhh!

  3. Heh, I was completely off.

I used to get that a lot when there was drama involving me and someone on LJ. Only rather than comments being turned off, it was a whole bunch of comments made by a pwned person being deleted.

  4. I like the layout. The last word I see up there is “Jingwe” though :P.

Reply: Heh, on my 1280×800 I get “Jii”. It’s okay on 800×600 though…:P Oh well, there’s some things I guess one just can’t control.

  6. *shrug*

You seem that good to me. Anyway, the theme works perfectly fine in Opera.

  7. I like this layout. It’s cute! Man I was so close with that guessing game too. Curse me and my nice numbers easily divisible by 5.

  8. I applied the percentage you got off from the dress and swimsuit to all the stuff this time. Guess it was a little more expensive.

Turning off comments = lame and childish. Not like it’s any surprise, though.

  12. I’m not sure about what kind of errors I should be looking for. I’m using Safari 2.0.4.

The links seem to all work. And I took a screenshot for you so you can see what I’m seeing :)

  13. I didn’t even notice the Jingwen, I think its a wee bit small.(It ends as J for me, btw, ha. I dont know my res though and I’m too lazy to look. But what a pain int he butt, even if I did look I usually have my sidebar open and set always on top) And I also find the red titles in the sidebar hard to read.

Hm. If you got anything from the rambling run on ness of that I congratulate you. But yeah, I like the new layout. :D

Reply: Yeah, I wasn’t keen on the repeating name either…I’ve changed it now. The only thing is, since I only have Paint to work with, the current image looks a little pixellated. :S

  14. Gah! New layout, already? I like this one, very marine-ish. Although, I can’t say I didn’t like the last one…it was like jumping in a rainbow.

As for turning comments off, well, it depends on the purpose. But blogs contain so many topics, it would be hard to not have any opposition. And, it’s always good to know the other side(s). So, for blogs I’d think turning off comments wouldn’t be such a great idea.
