February 19 2007: Domesticity

I spent the whole of tonight (last night? It’s now 12.55am) in the kitchen.

First I made a potato salad, comprising of diced potatoes (boiled), diced carrots (also boiled), diced tomatoes, cucumber slices, corn kernels and hard boiled eggs (obviously boiled).

Then I made my own custom pasta sauce/bolognaise with pork mince, tomatoes, capsicum and onions. I also cooked some spaghetti to go with the sauce, and we had that for dinner. It was apparently edible, as P and his friend had a bowl each.

Lastly, I mixed up a bowl of dumpling filling (pork mince, bok choy, an egg and seasoning), and sat in front of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe making a week’s worth of dumplings to freeze and store for the use of someone who doesn’t know how to cook from scratch.

Why, I do believe I’m becoming domestic. I’m contemplating tackling a spicy chicken noodle soup tomorrow…shall I? Shouldn’t I?

  3. I’m always so guilty of eating before I sleep. You’re not suppose to eat anything three hours before bedtime (told by grandma whos a doctor).

    But you’re certainly good with food :P the only thing my mom lets me cook is fried eggs, she’s afraid I’ll set the kitchen on fire or something…
