Blogathon 2007

February 3, 2007 | Filed under Online, Relationships/Men, Uni/Work

Downtime, you piss me off. Jingwen was down for…oh, probably a good five hours tonight. Luckily, it was boiling hot here in Melbourne so I didn’t feel like sweltering in front of the computer in an airconditioner-less room. Instead, I read Meg Cabot. Mmm…cheesy romances aimed at young adults.

In other news, I’m participating in Blogathon 2007! I thought I’d kick off all the posts as I’m the first person out of everyone participating to actually hit February 3…oh, the beauty of living at the bottom of the world.

In any case…today I met the type of man that I want to marry. He came into the shop today and asked me to help him pick out a new outfit for his wife because it was her thirtieth birthday tomorrow. He wanted to surprise her, because she hadn’t been feeling well throughout her pregnancy – she was suffering from bad morning sickness, and had contracted gestational diabetes as well. So, he not only bought her two new outfits, but got her all the bells and whistles of maternity accessories too…belly belts, belly bands, belly casting kits, baby bag, everything.

And that ladies, is the type of man that I’m going to marry – one who actually cares about how his wife is feeling, and does his best to ease her pain when she’s not feeling well. The end.

P.S. I’m also doing the group blog on Dispiacere as well. Cause I’m cool!

  3. Sounds like a good husband. They should all be like that… unfortunately they all aren’t.

  4. It’s so nice that you got to meet my husband, isn’t he just a darling? :-P

  5. That’s the type of man every woman wants I think; even if this is occasional behavior. Actually I’d prefer this kind of behavior to be occasional, if he were like this every day (yes and amen to everything..) I’d throw him out of the window.

I love a good argument (on occasion of course lol) and we all know what arguments lead too ;)

  6. I’m with Chans on both counts. I’d feel a little smothered if I had a guy who’s that attentive all the time. And yes, the occasional fight is good, too, if only for the makeup sex ;-)

  7. I agree with Nikki’s comment. I think being married to a man that cared about my feelings would probably be the greatest thing ever, I don’t think I could deal with that 24/7. I like arguing, too. It gets my juices flowing.

I want to participate in the blogathon, but I know I won’t be able to blog regularly. :(

  9. I love the new domain Amanda, such prettiness! Ahh yes down time, such evil, I share your dislike of it.

Awww that is the type of man I want to marry too, someone who can think outside of himself, but I think I need to learn how to do that too hehe.

  10. Blog conventions! xD

    Jenny on February 3, 2007 #

  11. That’s very sweet of the guy. I would love to snag that kind of husband but as others have mentioned, it’s nice to have the occasional dispute otherwise marriage life would not be that interesting.

  12. Mmmm Meg Cabot. My friend won’t give mine back to me.

YES. Let’s have a blog convention! Only if someone is willing to pay for my air fare :D

I really don’t want a guy that will pick out clothes for me. I’m fussy with my clothes. Imagine how fussy/picky I’d be if I were pregnant!

  13. I can’t say I’ve ever met a guy who’s done such a nice thing for his pregnant wife, then again, i don’t usually have much contact with pregnant women let alone their husbands. I’m sure that wife of his would’ve enjoyed such a pleasant surprise :).

  14. He sounds like the type of man I go for too. Oh, but these type of men are hard to find and almost extinct! Bugger.

    Melle on February 4, 2007 #

  15. Aww, that man sounds so sweet! I wouldn’t mind being spoiled like that 24/7 because I’m a spoiled girl to begin with. :P I hate having arguments with anyone, so I try to be equally pleasant most of the time.

    Aravis on February 4, 2007 #

  16. Now, that’s the guy you fall in love with.

I wonder how she responded when he gave her the stuff he bought.

  17. I didn’t even notice the downtime because my father oh-so-kindly banned me from the PC.

The new Autumn 2007/08 ready-to-wear line is coming up! You get the nutella, I’ll get the popcorn, and… Meet me on MSN. :P
