January 27 2007: Heightist

Not to be all heightist or anything, but I found it amusing when a 180cm+ tall heavily pregnant woman walked into the store today, followed by her 160cm tall stick-skinny husband.

The physical logistics of that is almost baffling. How would they….never mind. OH THE MENTAL IMAGERY!

  1. I assume they have some kind of system of levers and pulleys?

  2. On myspace I altered my height to “230cm” when I’m really only 160cm (and that’s being generous). I’d like to call myself “vertically challenged” rather than short. It sounds nicer.

… I have no idea how that works either. Actually, I don’t think I even want to know.

  3. *sighs* Amber you aren’t vertically challenged. Not when I’m like… 150 something. I don’t even want to know my height anymore. At least I will probably never have a partner who is shorter than I.

  4. Thanks, I tend to visualize things and this is something I really don’t want to see…

  5. My boyfriend is more than a foot taller than me (I’m a measly 1.53m and he’s over 1.85m). Height-difference logistics can be… hella fun. ;)

  6. My sister is almost 6ft and a beanpole. Her boyfriend is 5′6 and weighs 109kg.

I asked her how they ‘do it’ and she said his face is usually buried in her chest rather than up by her face… but he doesn’t mind.

I have never dated anyone shorter than me. Short people creep me out. I’m ttly heightist.

  7. I’ve always thought the same thing. It would be really errr, odd, to do it. Well, they say height doesn’t matter, and I’m not sure if I believe that. I have dated a guy shorter than me though. It was fun - while it lasted. =D

PS: Yes, shame on me for not delurking here first. =p

  8. I’m not 5 feet 3, but I don’t really care. It’s just my height and I live with it.

Everyone around me is taller than I am, though, of course…I love a man who is 6 feet 5. Never kissed him while standing (we didn’t even try).

  9. Amanda…:| LOL.

  10. Maybe she’s always *in control* when in bed? ;P
