January 22 2007: Thoughts of Yesterday

Filed under Life & Media & Style

Sunday 21 January

67 kilos (disg. result to day), minutes of day spent fantasising about setting up in a home with a white picket fence 60 (improvement), minutes of day spent trying to convince self to not eat KK doughnuts 120 (v.bad) # of KK doughnuts eaten 2 (dreadful), calories 10000000000 (am obese)

12pm. Am v.disgusting pig. How supposed to fit into size 12 jeans at FCUK? FCUK 12 clearly Sportsgirl 10, maybe 8. Blatant disregard of consumer’s feelings. When always thought was sz12, devastating to have to try sz14.

12.15pm. Consider writing complaint to Australian designers. Gave up idea when realise is own fault for coating all food in lard. Must diet.

12.17pm. Ooh, a Krispy Kremes! No, musn’t.

1pm. Maybe just one. Will help self concentrate on work.

1.15pm. Maybe another. Keep strength and energy levels up. Can always have salad for dinner.

6pm. Mother has made chicken for dinner. Surely one serving won’t hurt. Can always start diet tomorrow.

11pm. Have gained three kilos in one day. Am disgustingly obese, in style of Kirstie Alley pre-diet. Must have willpower. Perhaps should re-read Buddhism and Dieting and Why Men Love Women Who Are Thin.

Note to self: Must stop writing in style of BJ. Not healthy. May go watch pond scene of P&P to console self.

  1. 120? how big are these donuts? and i haven’t had one in forever! *is hungry now* but since it’s the weekend i’ve had plenty of cheese and crackers and ice cream…not too healthy.

  2. Bridget Jones is love. And so is the pond scene.

  3. I can keep to my healthy streak during the week but when it’s the weekend I have to indulge on bad things. Luckily I’ve lost weight instead of gaining some so it’s not that bad.

I just wonder how big those donuts where considering the amount of calories ;)

  4. Ah, poor you. :P If you’re like me and can’t help but eat what’s put in front of you, it would help to avoid the temptation where you can. If your parents are the sort who thoughtlessly stock the cupboard with every sugary, salty or fatty foodstuff under the sun, then it might help to ask them to buy less such food in future. Avoid confectionary aisles in supermarkets and dessert menus in restaurants, that kind of thing.

Me… personally I try not to worry too much about the actual calorie content of things, life’s too short to weigh potato servings and write down everything you put into your mouth. I went more for the things that were quite obviously wrong with my diet, such as lack of fruit and vegetables, the sheer amount of pasta I would cook for myself, my habit of cooking a loaf of garlic bread and eating the whole damn thing myself… twice a day I might add. The Doritos and chocolate probably didn’t help a whole lot either. I cut all that crap out of my diet, ate more fruit and made a conscious effort to snack less. Another big one was the lack of exercise, so once I fixed my eating habits and started running and working with weights, things really started to look up. I’m getting leaner and building the muscle I want. Much better than hating myself for not looking like Claudia Schiffer.

I’m still working on the actual vegetable part of my diet, though.

  5. I love the Bridget Jones writing style you have going on in this post. Hilarious; you’re so … BJ.

  6. I was like, “Woah, this is something out of Bridget Jones!” And then I read your note. And I was like, “That was cool.”

  7. Oh god Krispy Kreme.

They opened up in Canada a while back, and everyone loved them for a while. Then all the stores but two closed because no one was going.

  8. Amanda, each time you mention anything P&P/Colin Firth/etc. related, it just reminds how much I love you! :D

  9. Luckily, I’m not much of a fan of donuts. So I’m never tempted to devour 120. :-P

    Don’t you feel sick?

  10. We threw Krispy Kremes around the chemistry lab today at school. It was entertaining and my teacher didn’t even catch on until we were all coated with donuts. :P

  11. Dunkin’ Donuts are so much better.

Take it from the fat girl.

    Nellie on January 23 2007 #

  12. As long as you don’t continue this every day, you shouldn’t have a problem. :D But Krispy Kremes ARE good. Ar, I’m in a donut mood now. And I just ate dinner!

  13. Krispy Kreme… I have not have a KK donut in so long. They’re so delicious. The kind of delicious that’s really bad for you. And covered in sugar and glaze. But, so good!

  14. I love Bridget Jones! Are you writing like her so Mr. Darcy comes after you? :P
