Harry Potter: Lost Irretrievably

He touched his fingertips to the cold surface of the mirror, wishing in vain for the reflection to turn into reality. He wanted them beside him, to have the past eleven years reduced to merely a bad memory.
Yet they were gone, irretrievably lost…preserved only in his deepest darkest heart’s desires and in photographs he was yet to be given. He had a vault of Galleons as remembrance, but he would give it up willingly for one day with them.
A solitary tear slid slowly down his cheek as he stared hard into the mirror, imprinting them in his mind.
